Multimedia Essay
Multimedia revolves around many things as it states in the word it is “multi.” It can exist in text, images, audio, video, and even animation. Each one of these possesses a different type of skill set and whatnot. Photoshop is what always much of this happen. It can create digitally engaging pictures as it can change tint and color or even create anything we have in our imagination. Photoshop allows for engaging thumbnails and photos that we would not see without. This leads me on to careers, one would be if you are a model. If you could take the little imperfections of the photo such as people in the background or the glow of certain objects and change them, photoshop can do all that. It is what I would consider something revolutionary for people in this medium. In our modern world of the 21st century, jobs are always looking for someone versatile and someone who various skill sets, this is one of them. More than that this experience of Photoshop helps bring alive certain aspects of our creativity that would otherwise be unexplored.
Moving onto the video summary. First, we get a sample of a photo of a taxi in which Photoshop helped bring out what the photo truly represented in its tones. Next, we get a preview of how we can layer multiple pictures on top of each other to create a whole new unique photo. And finally, we see how it can be used for tasks like creating the cover works for a podcast or video. Next, the video goes on to explain that we might know a lot more about Photoshop and how to use it more than we think. This is because we have phones, these phones can be used to edit pictures similar to Photoshop. As it stands photoshop has become in a sense a very powerful tool for any multimedia user as it takes what you have in your brain onto something tangible.
Finally moving on to photoshop itself. The main platform is where most of the things I will be looking forward to not only use but learn. From the first two tutorials, I have learned a lot. For one I learned to move and rotate objects. Next,t I learned that I can use generative fill to assist in replacing certain things I don’t want in the picture. Ne,xt I learned to use the select tool to emphasize certain subjects. Next and most importantly I learned about layers. I always learned how to edit and hide layers when necessary. The video emphasized the contextual taskbar and its importance and I am beginning to see why it is so important. Finally, the tutorials touched on adjusting the tone and color and that can be seen in the two pictures I modified with Photoshop.
